Does Ziply Fiber give you a public IP? (CGNAT, static IP and servers)

Short answer: Yes, per customer reports: Ziply Fiber lines get a dynamic public IPv4, not CGNAT, so port forwarding works. A static IP comes with the top 10 Gig and 50 Gig plans or business service. The residential terms ban servers that serve people outside your home. We haven't found an official Ziply statement on CGNAT, so this is low confidence.

Does Ziply Fiber use CGNAT?

Customers say no: Ziply Fiber hands out a public (dynamic) IPv4. We haven't found an official Ziply page that says so either way. The report is cited on the Ziply Fiber ISP page.

Static IP on Ziply Fiber

Ziply's own 50 Gig announcement says that plan ($900/mo) comes with both static IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Customer reports say the 10 Gig plan includes a static IP too, and that other home plans need business service for one. If you got a static IP on a regular home plan, tell us how.

How to confirm on your line

  1. Follow how to tell if you're behind CGNAT: compare the router's WAN IP with your public IP.
  2. Run the checker. Its port test checks a forwarded port from outside, and the report sums up what you can host.
